About the Role
As a Certified Peer Recovery Coach, you'll serve as a Contingency Management (CM) Guide, directly empowering individuals on their recovery journey through our innovative tele-health platform. This role is perfect for someone passionate about peer support, comfortable with technology, and ready to make a meaningful impact in people's lives every single day.
Our mission is powerful yet straightforward: help every person we serve achieve their recovery goals through evidence-based support and genuine human connection. We need someone who can combine lived experience with professional expertise to guide members through our app-based recovery program.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct member support: Conduct weekly videoconference sessions with assigned members, helping them navigate the DynamiCare app and maximize their contingency management experience.
- Goal development: Collaborate with members to establish SMART recovery goals and create personalized paths for sustainable change.
- Resource coordination: Connect members with appropriate recovery resources, treatment providers, and community supports to build comprehensive care networks.
- Progress monitoring: Review member analytics, respond to real-time risk alerts, and provide timely interventions when members need additional support.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, brief non-clinical notes documenting member progress and goal achievement on our platform.
- Quality assurance: Review substance test videos to ensure compliance with program policies and provide supportive feedback.
- Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, treatment providers, and healthcare partners to optimize member outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Continuous improvement: Participate in regular supervision to refine coaching approaches and share insights for program enhancement.
Who You Are
- Recovery-focused — you bring personal recovery experience (minimum 2 years sustained recovery) and understand the multiple pathways to wellness.
- Naturally supportive — you excel at building trust quickly and maintaining therapeutic relationships with diverse populations facing substance use challenges.
- Tech-comfortable — skilled at using our digital platform, Microsoft Office, and comfortable troubleshooting basic technical issues with members.
- Motivationally skilled — experienced in motivational interviewing techniques and stages of change theory.
- Highly organized — excellent at managing caseloads, tracking progress, and maintaining detailed attention to member needs.
- Independently driven — capable of working autonomously while collaborating effectively with team members and external partners.
Qualifications
- Required: Current Certified Peer Recovery Support certification and SUD credentials
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field (extensive recovery experience and field knowledge may substitute)
- Previous experience as a Recovery Coach or comparable peer support role
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations in recovery settings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with comfort in conducting video sessions
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery principles, and community resource navigation
- Ability to conduct research and connect members with appropriate local supports and services
